Martin performs concerts of award-winning original songs for high school and adult audiences; Americana, folk and novelty sing-alongs for multi-generational and young audiences; Swing and Jazz standards with some familiar Americana for elder audiences. 

He introduces songwriting games and fundamentals in 1-6th grade classes and illuminates the use of detail, metaphor and personal story exploration for upper grades. Martin inspires adult songwriting students with writing exercises and subject expansion methods, shares insights on melody and harmony development and meaning, song structure options and forms, instrument voicings and vocal choice impact, and performance skills improvement. 

Martin is skilled at offering Continuing Education workshops for teachers and activity leaders on best practices for creating useful and fun mnemonics to help students remember important information. 

Martin teaches singing to people who think they CAN’T and offers vocal coaching to people who’d like to sing better. He leads sing-along events for folks of all ages. He creates safe space for singers to playfully experiment and experience the freedom of improvised singing, harmony development and ensemble dynamics. 

Martin is comfortable working with people with special needs and elders and excels at facilitating songwriting for community history projects and theatrical productions and creating original songs for personal celebrations (weddings, birthdays and etc).
